Correspondence contains letters by members of the Bond family of London and Brighton, England and the Travis and Cadwalader families of Philadelphia. Correspondence pertains chiefly to family affairs, but also describes travel in England and France, and reflects social and economic conditions in England. Letters, 1811-1815, of Ann Bond Travis, a young American girl visiting relatives in England, relate Ann's observations and impressions of society in London and describe her journeys in England and Paris, France. Correspondence of Frances (Fanny) Williamson and her husband, John G. A. Williamson, includes letters (1840s) written while John was working in Caracas, Venezuela, as British charge de affaires. Some letters discuss the export of exotic birds to England.
